A Sonny Brunch

Saturday morning at Sonny’s in downtown Portland was a delightful way to start a sunny weekend. I loved the cute vases on all the tables. It was just starting to warm up when we arrived and they were setting up the outside seating. I’d love to come back another day and enjoy the open air tables.

The menu seemed to have a South American twist as well an extensive drink list! Too bad I was headed to work after and enjoyed a mocktail of cranberry and OJ instead of a much desired mimosa.

Every time I go to breakfast I suffer with the age old question of sweet vs. savory. This morning the question was simple. They do not have eggs benedict…so I will go with sweet! Pancakes with strawberries mixed in. They were really great!

My neighbor here went with the mac n’ cheese which I enjoyed a couple of bites of (thanks Paige!)

The man-friend ordered the ojos grandes which consisted of eggs, potatoes beans, and manchego cheese and salsa verde. Also snagged a bite of this 🙂 Nothing beats a good brunch!
